Hayden Panettiere sits down with Red Table Talk this week to address her struggles with alcohol addiction, postpartum depression, and why she gave up custody of her only child.
The Heroes and Nashville star shares her story with hosts Jada Pinkett Smith, Adrienne Banfield Norris and guest host Kelly Osbourne, as she works on making a comeback and resuming her career.
“I was going through such a hard time that I knew the most unselfish thing that I could do was to just make that hard decision and just try to work on myself,” Panettiere says about giving up her daughter in a preview for the episode.
In 2018, the actress decided it was best for her daughter to live with her father, Ukrainian former professional boxer Wladimir Klitschko, as she worked on her mental and physical health.
Over the summer, the 33-year-old performer went public with her battle with addiction and how it nearly ruined her life. She spoke with People about going to rehab, and how she was getting back to work. She will next be seen in the film Scream 6.
Panettiere, a former child star, has said she was introduced to “happy pills” as a teenager by someone on her team.
She’ll offer more details about her past drug use and seeking treatment for addiction on RTT. Osbourne will also give an update on her addiction recovery and pregnancy journey.
The episode of Red Table Talk featuring Hayden Panettiere and Kelly Osbourne premieres Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 9am PT / 12pm ET on Facebook Watch.
