Harvey Weinstein Reportedly Tests Positive for Coronavirus

Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein has tested positive for coronavirus, according to published reports.

Weinstein is now in an isolation wing at the Wende Correctional Facility in Erie County, New York,
according to the Press-Republican in Plattsburgh, NY.

Prison officials told the paper Weinstein, 68, is one of two inmates who tested positive for the COVID-19 virus at the facility. Authorities said they believe Weinstein had the virus when he was admitted to the prison last week from New York City’s infamous Rikers Island jail.

Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison on March 11, for committing a criminal sexual act in the first-degree and third-degree rape.

According to the New York Department of Health, as of Sunday there were more than 15,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the state.
