Sheriff’s deputies shot a gunman Sunday evening at a racetrack in Del Mar, Calif., after the man was told no more tickets were available for an Ice Cube concert and he began firing shots, authorities said.
The trouble started around 6:40 p.m., according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
An argument erupted when the man was told the evening’s concert was sold out. He then “pulled out a silver plated semi-automatic handgun and fired several shots into a crowded area,” the sheriff’s department said in a news release.
Deputies in the area rushed to the scene when they heard the commotion and returned fire.

NBC San Diego, which posted eyewitness video on its website, said the suspect was hit multiple times in the torso and arm.
The man was taken to an area hospital. However, his condition was not known.
The Ice Cube concert was part of the 2018 Del Mar Summer Concert Series, with performances held after the last race of the day.
The concert went on as planned, the racetrack tweeted.
