Cedric the Entertainer is set to host a coronavirus comedy fundraiser called “Healing Through Laughter.”
The actor and comedian will be joined by his Original Kings of Comedy co-star D.L. Hughley for the livestream on Sunday, April 5, organizers said in a press release.

Also slated to take part are comedians Chris Tucker, Adele Givens, Spice Adams, Corey Holcomb, Luenell, JB Smoove, Ashima Franklin, Michael Blackson, TK Kirkland, Bill Bellamy, Mike Epps, Chris Spencer, Gary Owen, Jess Hilarious, Tony Baker, David Arnold, Earthquake, Donnell Rawlings and Affion Crockett.
In a video posted on Instagram, Cedric promised “it’s going to be dope.”
The goal of the event is to raise money to buy basic protective equipment, including hand sanitizer, protective suits and masks, for essential workers and individuals in vulnerable and underserved communities.
Organizers say 100% of the proceeds will go to inner-city communities in New York City — the epicenter of the COVID-19 crisis in the U.S.
“Healing Through Laughter” hosted by Cedric the Entertainer will stream live at 10pm ET/7pm PT on Cedric’s Facebook page and Twitch.
