Cardi B has deactivated her Instagram account after making history as the first solo female artist to win
the Grammy Award for best rap album.
Just before the I Like It rapper deleted her page she posted a video responding to critics who flooded social media with complaints that she didn’t deserve to win the Grammy. She also addressed BET’s controversial tweet congratulating her for the win, while taking a shot at Nicki Minaj, by saying the Young Money artist was “being dragged by her lacefront.”
“It’s not my style for people to put other people down to uplift somebody else, that’s not my style and
that’s not what I’m with and I don’t support that,” said Cardi in an expletive-filled rant captured by Music News Facts before it was deleted. “However, I been taking a lot of sh-t today, I’m seeing a lot of bullsh–t today and I saw a lot of sh-t last night. And I’m sick of this sh-t. I worked hard for my motherfu–g album.”

The New York rapper continued by saying she had support last year when she was up for two Grammys for Bodak Yellow, but lost. Now she’s being criticized.
“I remember last year when I didn’t win for ‘Bodak Yellow’ and everybody was like, ‘Cardi got snubbed,’” she said. “Now this year’s a f—ng problem?! My album went two-time platinum, my n—, and every chart that there was, my album was always Top 10. Number one album, as well.”

Cardi said she “worked her ass off,” on her Grammy-winning album Invasion of Privacy, despite being pregnant with daughter Kulture.
“I locked myself in the studio for three months, my n—. Didn’t go to sleep in my bed sometimes for four days straight — pregnant!” she said. “While everybody was harassing me like, ‘You’re not gonna do it, we know you pregnant, your career’s over.’”
As for Nicki Minaj, she dropped out of the upcoming BET Experience in response to the network’s social media post.
“Young Money will no longer be apart of the BET Experience or award show,” Minaj tweeted Monday. “Summer Tour dates dropping soon.”
BET later issued an apology saying the tweet “does not reflect” its true feelings about Minaj.
