BET’s ‘Sunday Best’ Finale to Feature Special Celebrity Performances

This weekend gospel stars Tasha Cobbs Leonard and VaShawn Mitchell will take the stage for special performances on the Season 9 finale of BET’s Sunday Best.

Judges Jonathan McReynolds, Kelly Price, and Erica Campbell are also set to perform, with Campbell debuting her new single “Praying & Believing.”

On last weekend’s episode of the gospel music competition series, Fantasia served as a guest judge and sang the new single “Looking For You,” from her forthcoming album Sketchbook.

The top three contestants — Joshua Copeland, Tiffany Andrews and Melvin Crispell III — were tasked with performing original songs created by singer-songwriter Makeba Riddick-Woods and producer Aaron Lindsey. The songs featured production by Lindsey and were co-produced by Myron Butler.

Tiffany was eliminated, leaving Joshua and Melvin [pictured above with host Kirk Franklin] to compete in the season finale.

The original tracks that the two finalists performed are now available on all major music streaming services.

Viewers have a say in who will win the competition, with voting open at bet.com/votesundaybest. The winner will receive a recording contract with RCA Inspiration, a cash prize of $50,000 and the title of Sunday Best.

The Season 9 finale of Sunday Best airs on Sunday, August 25 at 8:00PM ET/PT on BET.
