After a decade of arguments, drink throwing and shade, Evelyn Lozada says she’s leaving VH1’s Basketball Wives.

The reality star dropped the bombshell Tuesday on E!’s podcast “Just the Sip” with host Justin Sylvester.

“I am no longer going to do Basketball Wives,” Lozada said on the televised podcast. “I think that it’s time for me to open up the universe to other things.”

She then explained why she decided to call it quits after nine seasons. “It’s so difficult and it takes so much energy, and it’s not the most positive energy,” Lozada explained.

“Sometimes you have to say, ‘Alright I gotta walk away from this,’” she said before admitting she had been debating whether or not to leave the show for the last several seasons.

Lozada said her family is relieved her antics will no longer be shown on TV, and said she feels good about her decision to leave. “No, I don’t think I’ll regret it,” she told Sylvester.

She added that she has no plans on making any future cameos on the show, or joining another reality show — although she wouldn’t mind being part of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. “That’s the only one I would probably do,” Lozada said.

Once the announcement was made, she started responding to fans on Twitter who said they don’t want to see her go. Lozada tweeted back at a fan: “Still support the ladies (New & Old) Love you! You been ridin’ with me since season 1.”

The 45-year-old has been on the show since 2010 as one of its original cast members when the series was filmed in Miami.

VH1 did not respond to Urban Hollywood 411‘s request for comment about Lozada’s exit.
