Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall return to Queens in the newly released trailer for Coming 2 America.

Thirty two years after the original film’s release, barbershop owner Clarence (Murphy) and his ever-present customers are still talking trash and hurling insults.

The trailer shows Murphy’s Akeem and Hall’s Semmi making a surprise visit to the barbershop. Only this time, instead of dressing like tourists, the royal visitors are decked out.

“Hey, it’s Kunta Kinte and Ebola,” someone quips. There’s also a joke about starving children in Africa, but Clarence admits it’s “politically incorrect.”

The sequel is a follow up to the hit 1988 comedy Coming to America, directed by John Landis.

Murphy and Hall are joined in the new movie by original cast members Shari Headley, Garcelle Beauvais, James Earl Jones, Paul Bates and Vanessa Bell Calloway. The comedy also features Jermaine Fowler, Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan and Teyana Taylor, who are introduced in the trailer.

The plot centers on newly-crowned King Akeem of the fictional African nation of Zamunda, who finds out he has a son in America he never knew about.

The sequel was originally supposed to be released this month. But due to theaters being shuttered because of the coronavirus pandemic, Paramount sold the film to Amazon.

Coming 2 America is directed by Craig Brewer. The writing team includes Kenya Barris, with Murphy and Kevin Misher serving as producers.

The film will begin streaming March 5 on Prime Video. Watch the trailer below.
