Viral Comedian Sarah Cooper Gets Premiere Date for Star-Studded Netflix Special

Sarah Cooper Everything's Fine

For many Americans, 2020 has been challenging. But for comedian Sarah Cooper, this has been a banner year.

Cooper went viral during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic after uploading videos of herself lip syncing statements made by President Donald Trump.

Her short videos caught the attention of social media users on TikTok and Twitter, as well as buzz from news outlets. Now she has a star-studded Netflix special coming out.

In August, Netflix announced it had signed Cooper to host her own comedy special.

Cooper’s variety special Sarah Cooper: Everything’s Fine will debut on Oct. 27, with appearances by special guest stars Whoopi Goldberg, Helen Mirren, Megan Thee Stallion, Jordan Black, and Danielle Brooks (among other notable guests). The program is produced by Maya Rudolph and directed by Natasha Lyonne.

In a press release, Netflix described the special as “full of vignettes dealing with issues of politics, race, gender, class, and other light subjects.” Guests will appear in a series of sketches and interviews.

Cooper is also an author and has published two books. Her first book, “100 Tricks to Appear Smart in Meetings,” was released in 2016. The second book, “How to Be Successful Without Hurting Men’s Feelings,” was published in 2018.

CBS announced in August that it is currently developing her second book into a comedy show.
