‘Tenet’ Trailer: John David Washington Tries to Stop World War III

The official trailer for the new thriller Tenet has been released and it features John David Washington (BlacKkKlansman) as a secret agent preparing for a time-bending mission to prevent World War III.

While the plot details are being kept under wraps, the movie is set within the world of international espionage and Washington’s character has the fate of the world in his hands.

The film from The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan also stars Robert Pattinson, Michael Caine, Kenneth Branagh, Elizabeth Debicki, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Nolan — whose previous films include Dunkirk, Interstellar and Inception — recently told Entertainment Weekly this latest project was a massive undertaking.

“We’re jumping off from the point of view of an espionage film, but we’re going to a number of different places. We’re crossing a few different genres in a hopefully exciting and fresh way,” Nolan said. “We shot in seven countries, all over the place, with a massive cast and huge set pieces. There’s no question, it’s the most ambitious film we’ve made.”

The Warner Bros. film has a reported budget of about $200 million, making it one of the most expensive original movies ever made.

The thriller had originally been set to open on July 17, but as the coronavirus pandemic continues, it’s unclear when the film will arrive in theaters.
