Fox Business Network has ousted host Trish Regan, who sparked controversy earlier this month when she called coronavirus a “scam” designed to discredit President Trump.

“Fox Business has parted ways with Trish Regan — we thank her for her contributions to the network over the years and wish her continued success in her future endeavors,” the network said in a statement  Friday.

Regan added in a prepared statement that she plans to spend more time with her family.

“I have enjoyed my time at Fox and now intend to focus on my family during these troubled times,” she said. “I am grateful to my incredible team at Fox Business and for the many opportunities the network has provided me. I’m looking forward to this next chapter in my career.”

Regan began hosting Trish Regan Primetime in the fall of 2018. The program was removed from the air after she launched into an on-air rant on March 9, and accused Democrats and the “liberal media” of cooking up a coronavirus hoax to hurt Trump.

“We’ve reached a tipping point. The chorus of hate being leveled at the president is nearing a crescendo as Democrats blame him and only him for a virus that originated halfway around the world,” Regan told viewers as the words “Coronavirus Impeachment Scam” appeared on a screen behind her.

“This is yet another attempt to impeach the president,” she added. “Many in the liberal media are using, and I mean using, coronavirus in an attempt to demonize and destroy the president.”
