The Real has a new co-host.

On Monday, longtime hosts Loni Love, Jeannie Mai, Tamera Mowry-Housley and Adrienne Houghton officially welcomed actress and comedian Amanda Seales as the daytime talk show’s fifth host.

The ladies started off their first show of 2020 by switching seats and giving Seales her own chair.

“I’m tripping right now,” said an emotional Seales. “I didn’t expect to cry. I’m a G.”

After serving as a guest co-host several times last year, Seales said Monday she appreciated that she got to be herself.

“What was always so great when I would come and guest-host with y’all was, I remember at the end of the first two weeks I looked up and was like, ‘Wait, I was myself for the whole two weeks and I didn’t have to think about anything,’” she explained.

Viewers may recognize Seales as the outspoken Tiffany DuBois on HBO’s hit comedy series Insecure.

This the first time The Real has had a fifth permanent co-host since Tamar Braxton left the show back in 2016.
