Cynthia Erivo, Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Lopez received Golden Globes Nominations

Cynthia Erivo, Eddie Murphy, and Jennifer Lopez picked up nominations Monday morning for the 77th annual Golden Globe Awards.

Erivo received a nod in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama category for her role as abolitionist Harriet Tubman in the film “Harriet.” Erivo also received a nomination for co-writing the song “Stand Up” on the film’s soundtrack.

Murphy was nominated in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category for playing real-life comedy and rap pioneer Rudy Ray Moore in “Dolemite Is My Name.”

Lopez picked up a nod in the Best Performance by an Actress in A Supporting Role category for her turn as Ramona, a likeness of former adult entertainment host Samantha Barbash, in the stripper drama “Hustlers.”

Beyoncé received a nod in the Best Original Song – Motion Picture Category for co-writing “Spirit” from “The Lion King” with Timothy McKenzie and Ilya Salmanzadeh.

On the television side, Billy Porter received a nomination in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama category for playing Pray Tell in “Pose.”

Tim Allen, Dakota Fanning and Susan Kelechi Watson announced the nominations at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. They were joined by Golden Globe Ambassadors Dylan and Paris Brosnan; Lorenzo Soria, Hollywood Foreign Press Association President; and Barry Adelman who is executive producer and executive vice president of television at Dick Clark productions.

The 77th Golden Globe Awards will air live on NBC from 8-11 p.m. ET (5-8 p.m. PT) on Jan. 5, with British comedian Ricky Gervais returning to host.
