Joycelyn Savage, one of R. Kelly’s two live-in girlfriends, has turned against the singer and made a series of bombshell claims.
Savage, who previously defended Kelly in a March interview with Gayle King, went public over the weekend alleging he was physically abusive in a series of posts on Patreon, a crowdfunding platform that requires paid memberships.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, which read Savage’s Patreon posts, she called Kelly a “monster,” and alleged he forced her to have an abortion after she became pregnant.
“I realized I was pregnant by this monster,” Savage wrote. “Eventually, I ended up getting an abortion I was forced to get the surgery done at his house.”
She went on to say she got pregnant again and had a second abortion.
In another post seen by CBS News, Savage said Kelly liked to urinate on her and make her swallow it. If she became ill and threw up, she alleged the “piss would turn into feces.”
Savage said Kelly forced her to call him “master” or “daddy,” but one time when she slipped and called him “babe,” he choked her.
“He grabbed me and choked me until I blacked out,” she said. “I had bruises around my neck, and I was told by him to wear turtle necks or a scarf to cover them up whenever he would take me out in public.”

Savage met the Grammy-winning singer at a concert when she was 19 years old. She said in her posts he promised to guide her career, and claimed he would make her the “next Aaliyah.” Instead, she said she was used for sex or as a “punching bag.”
Among her other claims:
- “Robert would bring different girls home that stayed just like me, and they were definitely younger then me.”
- “I didn’t have any privacy at all,” she said, adding that Kelly’s “assistant would have to be by the door while I shower.”
- She said she was coached on what to say in interviews: “His assistant would starve me for days at a time until I learned it right word for word.”
Kelly’s attorney, Steve Greenberg responded to the posts with a statement saying Savage is trying to cash in by exploiting Kelly.
“It is unfortunate that Jocelyn now seeks to make money by exploiting her long time, loving relationship with Robert,” the statement said. “Obviously if she were to tell the truth no one would pay so she has, unfortunately, chosen to regurgitate the stories and lies told by others for her own personal profit. We know the real facts, and it was not until the money ran out that she decided anything was wrong. Hopefully people will see it for the obvious profiteering it is.”
Kelly, 52, is currently being held in a Chicago jail as he awaits trial on sexual abuse, child pornography, and obstruction of justice charges. The R&B singer is battling cases in Illinois, New York, and Minnesota.
