Regina Hall is teaming up with Amazon Studios on the new supernatural horror film Master.
The actress and comedian will executive produce and star in the drama about two black women at a predominantly white college in Massachusetts, who begin to experience haunting activities, Deadline reported Wednesday.
Hall will play Gail Bishop, the queer black head master of the Belleville house at Ancaster, a liberal arts college outside Boston. The character is forced to manage her campus as racism causes tensions while students and faculty are haunted by evil supernatural forces.
The film will be written and directed by Mariama Diallo, and is scheduled to begin production in New York in 2020.
Hall is best known for playing “Brenda” in the Scary Movie horror franchise; as well as her roles in About Last Night, Think Like a Man, Girls Trip, The Hate U Give, and Little.
