Tensions boiled over once again on The View Tuesday.
The latest dispute erupted as the panelists discussed U.S. Army Lt. Col. Alexander S. Vindman, who was scheduled to testify during the House impeachment inquiry about President Trump’s phone call to Ukraine.
After a clip played of Fox News host Laura Ingraham questioning Vindman’s loyalty to the nation, Meghan McCain brought up the treatment of U.S. veterans.
“Where everyone’s losing me right now, is there is this trend in American politics where we are criticizing veterans,” said McCain, who mentioned Hillary Clinton for saying the Russians appeared to be grooming Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard as a potential third-party presidential candidate.
McCain then told Joy Behar if she has a problem with Ingraham’s comments, she should also have issues with what Clinton said.
The conversation quickly spiraled into a screaming match between McCain, Behar and Abby Huntsman, prompting Whoopi Goldberg to try and diffuse the situation.
“Everybody just take a breath,” Goldberg said, but McCain continued to talk.
“Hold on, let me just finish what I’m saying… everybody has something to say at the table. We really do want to hear from everybody, but we’re starting to do that thing,” Goldberg told McCain, who cut in, saying, “I don’t know what that means, this ‘thing.'”
“It means you are talking over each other,” Goldberg responded, to which McCain shot back, “Well, it’s The View.”
Goldberg then scolded McCain about having respect.
“It is The View, let me tell you something about The View. This show has always had the ability to have different points of view, which we respect around the table,” Goldberg said. “And when we talk to each other, we also exhibit respect. So, when I’m saying to you, ‘Hold up, because we’re not hearing each other,’ I’m not trying to cut you off, I’m trying to get you heard.”
McCain continued to argue, prompting Goldberg to toss to break.
