‘Wendy Williams Show’ Renewed Through 2022

As The Wendy Williams Show kicked off its 11th season Monday, host Wendy Williams told the audience she’s coming back for two more seasons.

“The Wendy show has been renewed through 2022,” she told the audience at the end of the season premiere.

Producer and distributor Debmar-Mercury also announced the syndicated daytime talk show has been picked up through season 13 by Fox Television Stations.

“Wendy’s enduring demo strength is matched only by its unwavering support among our valued station partners,” said Debmar-Mercury co-presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “Fox, which has been there from the start, remains a big believer in the power of Wendy to deliver the goods and keep its important morning news block viewers from going anywhere.”

Williams said she appreciates the opportunity to bring the show back through the 2021-22 season.

“I want to tell Fox and all of our stations today how much their support and confidence means to me,” she said in a statement. “They should know we will never stop working very hard to bring our dedicated Wendy Watchers and audience ‘co-hosts’ the freshest national daytime television! I love you for watching!”

The news comes after a turbulent year for the TV host and best-selling author.

At the beginning of the year, she took an extended break to recover from Graves’ disease. Weeks later, Williams revealed she’d been living in a sober house.

Then in April, she filed for divorce from husband Kevin Hunter, who was an executive producer on the show. Hunter left the series after the divorce filing amid reports he had fathered a child with another woman.

On the season 10 finale, Williams broke down on camera and said the past year had been “hell” for her.
