This year’s Black Music Honors will celebrate the achievements of Xscape, Yolanda Adams, Freddie Jackson and Arrested Development, Central City Productions announced this week.

Xscape is set to pick up the Urban Music Icon Award for 25 years in the music industry. Yolanda Adams will receive the Gospel Music Icon Award. Culturally-conscience group, Arrested Development, and chart-topping singer Freddie Jackson, will also be honored.

“The vision behind the Black Music Honors is to recognize the trailblazers in African American music who have paved the way for the artists of today,” Don Jackson, the show’s founder and executive producer, said in a press release. “Many of these artists have never received their much-deserved recognition.”

The 4th Annual Black Music Honors will be taped on Thursday, September 5th at The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, with Rickey Smiley and LeToya Luckett returning as co-hosts.

The show will air nationwide in syndication in the fall and on Bounce TV on Oct. 20, 2019 at 12 p.m. ET. Additional details on the telecast can be found here.
