Disney star Cameron Boyce died unexpectedly from epilepsy, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said Tuesday.

In its final report, the coroner’s office listed Boyce’s official cause of death as “sudden unexpected death in epilepsy.”

Boyce, 20, was found unresponsive on Saturday, July 6, at his home in North Hollywood, Calif. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the coroner’s office.

An autopsy was performed on Monday, July 8, but the coroner’s office delayed releasing its final report pending further review.

The actor’s family previously said he died due to an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated, but did not reveal details.

Days later, his family released a statement saying his “tragic passing was due to a seizure as a result of an ongoing medical condition, and that condition was epilepsy.”

Boyce was best known for his roles in the Disney Channel franchise Descendants. He recently wrapped a role for Descendants 3, which is scheduled to premiere on Friday, Aug. 2.

Disney Channel canceled the red-carpet premiere of Descendants 3 after Boyce’s death, and said the telecast will be dedicated in the actor’s memory.
