Tamar Braxton is saying “I’m sorry” to her former colleagues on The Real.
Braxton, who co-hosted the Warner Bros. produced daytime talk show for three years before her firing in 2016, took to Instagram Monday to clear the air and apologize.
“When all u know and felt is hurt. You hurt. Self-inflicted and to others are included,” she captioned a video of herself. “From my sisters, the ladies of the real, Iyanla, old and new Friends and whomever else I’ve EVER hurt, from being hurt.”
She also apologized to life coach Iyanla Vanzant and concluded her message with a shout-out to her new boyfriend David Adefeso, writing: “Please forgive me. I didn’t know love to show you love. Now I do thanks to my @david.adefeso.”
Braxton’s emotional message comes three years after her unexpected departure from the daytime series. It’s still unclear what led to the singer’s exit, but her former co-hosts recently came forward to say they had nothing to do with it.
Loni Love, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Adrienne Bailon-Houghton and Jeannie Mai stopped by Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club in October 2018 and shared their sides of the story, placing the blame on Braxton and her then-husband and talent manager, Vince Herbert.
Love alleged that after Season 2 of the show, something changed in Braxton, a shift that eventually led to her firing.
“Everybody has a different story with Tamar. My story is this — she was getting to the point where I was at her house one day. This is after Dancing With the Stars and all this other kind of stuff. She looked at me and she said, ‘Hey, I want to get a new manager,’” Love said.
The comedian said Braxton wanted advice on obtaining a new manager as her marriage with Herbert broke down. Love said she gave Braxton the number of Steve Harvey’s former manager, and shortly thereafter, she got a call saying the then co-host had been let go.
Braxton later went on an Instagram rant about how Love supposedly stabbed her in the back, and she cut off communication with all of the co-hosts.
But now it sounds like Braxton is putting the drama aside and moving forward, a decision her boyfriend has commended her for. “The kind, gentle, beautiful and self-assured woman that is my @tamarbraxton is now on full display,” he wrote in part on Instagram.
