The music may not be over just yet for Star, at least if Lee Daniels has any say in the matter.

Daniels, who co-created the series with Tom Donaghy, says he’s working behind the scenes to find Star a new home after Fox canceled it earlier this month.

In an Instagram post Tuesday night, Daniels shared a clip from the show and wrote: “Fighting guys! Will know this week… or top of next! I’m NOT letting them STOP the CULTURE.. SORRY!!”

As Urban Hollywood 411 reported on May 10, Fox opted to end the series after three seasons.

The music drama followed three talented singers trying to make it in the music business.

Star premiered in 2016, as a companion to Empire and starred Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny, Brittany O’Grady, Quincy Brown, Queen Latifah, Amiyah Scott and Brandy Norwood. Lance Gross and Benjamin Bratt also had roles on the show.

Last week Daniels noted on Instagram that he had nothing to do with the cancellation.

“To our die hard Star fans, please know this was not of my doing. Our cast and crew are heartbroken,” he wrote.

Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier told reporters the decision to cancel Star was tied to Empire, adding that the network wanted to focus more attention on the hip-hop drama for its sixth and final season.

We’ll let you know if Star finds a new home.
