Meghan Markle gave birth to a baby boy early Monday morning. The Duchess of Sussex , 37, delivered the infant at 5:26 a.m.

“It’s been the most amazing experience I can ever possibly imagine. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension,” Prince Harry told reporters in Windsor after the newborn’s arrival.

“This little baby is absolutely to die for,” the beaming prince added as he stood in front of a horse stable. “I’m just over the moon.”

Harry said he was present for the birth and is “incredibly proud” of his wife. They are still considering names for the baby, he said.

The news was also shared on the royal couple’s official Instagram page.

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs 3oz,” the post said. “The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives.”

British media outlets reported Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, was with her when she gave birth.

Prince Harry, 34, and former Suits actress Meghan were married in May 2018, and announced they were expecting a baby in October.

The child is seventh in line to the throne, behind the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge and his children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – and Prince Harry, the BBC reported. The newborn is  eligible for dual British-U.S. citizenship.
