Jay-Z’s annual Made in America festival is moving forward with a confirmed location and star-studded lineup.

Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s entertainment company, announced Tuesday that it will host the 2019 event in Philadelphia over Labor Day weekend on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1.

The two-day festival will be held off of the city’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway, despite the controversy that surrounded the location last year.

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney’s office said at the time that the concert would have to find a different home because of the crowds and costs associated with the event, but it looks like a deal has since been worked out.

As for the 2019 lineup, rappers Travis Scott and Cardi B are set to headline the event. Juice WRLD, Anderson.Paak, Jorja Smith, Kaytranada, Freddie Gibbs, Tierra Whack, Channel Tres, and Kodack Black will also perform at the festival, to name a few musicians.

Made in America’s first concert took place in 2012. While Philadelphia leaders last year complained about the costs associated with the festival, including police overtime and cleanup, Jay-Z said the gathering has raised millions of dollars for the city.

“Since 2012, Made in America, one of the only minority-owned festivals, has had a positive $102.8 million economic impact to Philadelphia, and the festival has paid $3.4 million in rent to the city,” Jay-Z wrote in a July 2018 op-ed for The Philadelphia Inquirer about the festival.

He continued: “Made in America employs more than 1,000 Philadelphians each day and 85 percent of our partners are Philadelphia-based companies.”

In 2014, Made in America was held simultaneously in Philly and Los Angeles.

But the two-day L.A. event – held downtown in Grand Park – faced sharp criticism for drawing massive crowds to the city center, and causing noise and traffic problems. According to the Los Angeles Times, about 71,000 fans attended, but the festival hasn’t returned to L.A. since then.

Tickets for the general public to attend the upcoming festival will go on sale April 5 at 10 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster.com, but users who subscribe to Jay-Z’s music streaming service, Tidal, can secure their spots starting today. American Express Cardmembers are also included in the pre-sale.
