Jerry O’Connell is getting his own slot on daytime TV.

The actor is set to host Jerry O, a comedic talk show from Funny Or Die and the producers of The Wendy Williams Show, Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury.

In addition to featuring interviews with celebrity guests, the series will include comedy segments from Funny Or Die, produced exclusively for Jerry O.

O’Connell is a familiar face for daytime viewers after guest hosting stints on The Talk, Wendy and other shows. The actor filled in for host Wendy Williams in 2018 and earlier this year while she recovered from Graves’ disease.

“I love daytime. I love watching it and have fallen in love with guest-hosting it,” O’Connell said in a statement. “Whether asking people to ‘Cash Me Outside’ or asking them ‘How You Doin’?,’ daytime is a big part of my life. I am thrilled to work with my friends at both Debmar-Mercury and Funny Or Die.”

Funny Or Die CEO Mike Farah added, “He’s funny, smart and his energy is contagious. We’re proud to collaborate with him and Debmar-Mercury, and think this is the perfect show for Funny Or Die’s first foray into daytime television!”

Jerry O will get a three-week preview on select Fox-owned local stations starting Aug. 12.

If viewers like what they see, the show could get a syndication deal to air nationwide. Although it would face tough competition with Kelly Clarkson, Tamron Hall and Jerry Springer launching new daytime shows in the fall.
