The two women who live with R. Kelly are speaking out against their concerned parents.

Azriel Clary, 21, and Joycelyn Savage, 23, appeared on CBS This Morning Thursday to speak with Gayle King regarding the nature of their relationships with the R&B star, who has been accused of holding the two against their will.

Both women say they are romantically involved with the Bump n’ Grind singer, with Clary stating: “We both have our individual relationships with him, and we all are family all together. We have our moments where we sit and watch movies altogether, we go to amusement parks altogether.”

Clary and Savage wouldn’t discuss their sex lives, however, which resulted in a heated exchange with King.

“Sexually, well, first of all, I’m not here to talk about my personal life, and I would never share with no one what I do in or outside of the bedroom. And as a woman, I’m sure you would not either,” Clary told King when pressed about the topic.

The conversation took an emotional turn when the women were asked about their parents, who have spoken out against R. Kelly in the past. The 52-year-old entertainer was there for this portion of the interview, despite assurances from his team that he wouldn’t be present.

As R. Kelly loomed in the background, Clary argued that her parents shouldn’t be concerned about her well-being.  “Well, my parents knew where I have always been,” she said. “For four years, they have known. They know that I’ve been well taken care of.”

Savage agreed with this sentiment and it was noted that she had called her family for the first time in years following R. Kelly’s interview with King on Wednesday.

“We are glad to finally hear from Joycelyn today,” Savage’s family lawyer told  Rolling Stone. “After speaking with her little sister, Joycelyn paused from the seemingly prepared script and was able to share her love for her family. We hope that today was the first step to re-establishing a loving relationship with her family.”

But Savage contradicted this statement in her interview Thursday, stating: “Both our parents are basically out here trying to get money and scam, because they didn’t agree on what happened, you know, with music or whatever it could be. And they’re just very upset.”

Savage’s claim echoes allegations R. Kelly made Wednesday. “What kind of father, what kind of mother, would sell their daughter to a man?” he asked King. “How come it was OK for me to see them until they wasn’t getting no money from me? If I was gonna take my daughter and she’s 19 years old, to a 49-year-old icon, whatever, celebrity, or R. Kelly concert or whoever it is, I’m not gonna put her on the stage and leave her… Their fathers know more about my music than they do.”

When King pushed back on these claims and mentioned how Clary’s father said she wouldn’t look him in the eye, the 21-year-old responded: “Okay, I wouldn’t look him in the eye because he’s a liar. He’s a manipulative liar.”
