Donald Trump has a real problem with Spike Lee’s Oscars speech.

After winning his first Oscar for adapting the film BlacKkKlansman from Ron Stallworth’s memoir about a black police detective who infiltrates the Ku Klux Klan, Lee gave a stirring speech Sunday night at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The Academy Award winner talked about the journey of African-Americans over the past 400 years, the importance of education and the upcoming 2020 presidential election.

“Let’s all mobilize. Let’s all be on the right side of history. Make the moral choice between love versus hate. Let’s do the right thing!” the filmmaker said, referring to his 1989 drama Do the Right Thing.

The Oscar winner didn’t mention Trump by name, but it was obvious he was calling for change in the White House.

Naturally, Trump took offense and unloaded on Lee via Twitter.

It would “be nice if Spike Lee could read his notes, or better yet not have to use notes at all, when doing his racist hit on your President,” Trump tweeted Monday morning.

POTUS went on to claim he’s “done more for African Americans (Criminal Justice Reform, Lowest Unemployment numbers in History, Tax Cuts, etc.) than almost any other Pres!”

Lee wasn’t amused by the response and shut Trump down in an interview Monday with Entertainment Weekly.

“Well, it’s okee-doke, you know,” he told the publication. “They change the narrative.”

“They did the same thing with the African-American players who were kneeling, trying to make it into an anti-American thing, an anti-patriotic thing, and an anti-military thing,” he said. “But no one’s going for that.”
