D.L. Hughley doesn’t think much of boxer Floyd Mayweather.

During a gathering Wednesday while promoting his new late-night program, The D.L. Hughley Show, the comedian touched on a variety of topics, including Mayweather’s fondness of Gucci.

Mayweather went on a shopping spree earlier this week at Gucci in Beverly Hills, despite calls from other African-American celebrities — including Spike Lee and T.I. — to boycott the brand for selling a black sweater with a high neck and red lips, that looked like blackface.

Asked about the boycott as he entered the Gucci store, Mayweather told a TMZ photographer, “I’m gonna wear whatever the f-ck, I want to wear.”

Hughley blasted Mayweather saying the boxer is entitled to spend his money wherever he wants, but he’s a “fool.”

“If you’re a black man and you think, because you are wealthy, you are an island unto yourself, you are a fool,” Hughley told journalists at the Television Critics Association’s Winter Press Tour in Pasadena, according to Deadline.

He then said the boxing champion is mistaken if he thinks his wealth makes him different from other African-Americans.

“If you are born of color on this planet you owe a debt,” Hughley added. “Floyd is a guy who believes that his money and prestige will insulate him.”

Hughley also shared his thoughts on Terry Crews. The two recently exchanged words on Twitter after the comedian expressed doubts about the actor’s claim that he was sexually assaulted by a Hollywood agent.

“He’s very big guy and I grew up a small guy. If you let someone do things to you, they keep doing it,” Hughley said at TCA.

The comedian called out the #MeToo movement, saying they were very vocal about Crews’ alleged assault, but he doesn’t see the same type of outrage “when I see a young… girl get slammed down by police.”

“I felt it was disingenuous of all those people from the #MeToo movement. Would they do that if he was beaten by police?” Hughley asked

Still, he said he’d like to sit down with Crews for a conversation on his show.

The D.L. Hughley Show will air on TV One and  is an extension of the comedian’s radio program.
