‘Young and the Restless’ Pays Tribute to Kristoff St. John

The Young and the Restless has said farewell to longtime star Kristoff St. John.

The CBS daytime soap opera paid tribute to the late actor on the Friday, Feb. 8 episode, just days after St. John was pronounced dead at his home in Los Angeles on Sunday. The actor as 52.

CBS’ homage to St. John — who played Neil Winters on the show since 1991 — occurred at the end of the episode, with stock footage of the actor reflecting his Y&R legacy.

“It feels like a real accomplishment,” he said. “I’ve been a part of something that will somehow be in a time capsule… and I’m part of that? Yeah, I’m one of the brothas on The Young and the Restless, I’m one of the sons. I’m one of the family members. I was there. Yeah, man, Neil Winters was an integral part.”

Following a montage of St. John’s moments on the series, he appeared on screen again to deliver a parting message. “Thank you for sharing in this adventure,” he stated. “This mighty ship that has sailed for so long. I love you.”

This isn’t the only tribute planned for St. John. CBS Daytime released an announcement via its Twitter account Friday that the show will air a storyline dedicated to the Emmy-winning actor and his character in April. “Today’s tribute during #YR is only the beginning,” the account tweeted.

At this time, St. John’s cause of death has not been disclosed.
