The Young and the Restless has said farewell to longtime star Kristoff St. John.
The CBS daytime soap opera paid tribute to the late actor on the Friday, Feb. 8 episode, just days after St. John was pronounced dead at his home in Los Angeles on Sunday. The performer was 52.
CBS’ homage to St. John — who played Neil Winters on the show since 1991 — occurred at the end of the episode, with stock footage of the actor reflecting his Y&R legacy.
“It feels like a real accomplishment,” he said. “I’ve been a part of something that will somehow be in a time capsule… and I’m part of that? Yeah, I’m one of the brothas on The Young and the Restless, I’m one of the sons. I’m one of the family members. I was there. Yeah, man, Neil Winters was an integral part.”
Following a montage of St. John’s moments on the series, he appeared on screen again to deliver a parting message. “Thank you for sharing in this adventure,” he stated. “This mighty ship that has sailed for so long. I love you.”
This isn’t the only tribute planned for St. John. CBS Daytime released an announcement via its Twitter account Friday that the show will air a storyline dedicated to the Emmy-winning actor and his character in April. “Today’s tribute during #YR is only the beginning,” the account tweeted.
