While the Grammy-winning singer was not charged, prosecutors said the investigation is ongoing, according to television network, France 24.

Shortly after his release, Brown insisted he was innocent and posted an image on Instagram that said: “This bi-ch lyin’.”

“I WANNA MAKE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR…… THIS IS FALSE AND A WHOLE LOT OF CAP [sic]! NNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEERRRRRR!!!!!! FOR MY DAUGHTER AND MY FAMILY THIS IS SO DISPRESPECTFUL AND IS AGAINST MY CHARACTER AND MORALS!!!!!” he wrote in all caps, but later deleted the post.

The singer’s Paris-based lawyer, Raphael Chiche, told Entertainment Tonight he is preparing to sue the accuser.

“Chris Brown is free. No lawsuits were filed against him,” Chiche said. “He vigorously challenges the charges against him. A complaint for slanderous denunciation will be filed tomorrow with the Public Prosecutor of Paris. The charges against Chris Brown have not been dropped and investigations are still going on but Chris Brown has not been sued by Prosecution.”

Chiche also posted a statement on Twitter.

Brown was taken into custody Monday along with his bodyguard and another person after an unidentified French model said she was raped by the singer and others during a drug-fueled party at a Paris hotel.

The accuser said she met the Loyal singer overnight between January 15-16 at the Crystal Lounge nightclub near the Champs-Elysées. The group then went to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in central Paris, where the woman alleged the rape occurred.

Brown has had a series of legal troubles since pleading guilty to the felony assault in 2009 of then-girlfriend, Rihanna.
