MSNBC Welcomes Kendis Gibson as Weekend Anchor

Kendis Gibson will join MSNBC later this month as weekend anchor, the cable news network announced Monday.

In a statement posted on its Twitter feed, MSNBC Public Relations said he’ll anchor MSNBC Live weekends from 2 pm to 4 pm ET, starting Jan. 19.

Gibson previously served as an anchor and reporter for ABC News. He joined ABC in 2014 and most recently anchored World News Now and America This Morning, according to his ABC bio.

Before joining ABC, he worked for CBS News in Los Angeles as a West Coast correspondent for the network’s affiliate service, CBS Newspath. Gibson also served as an entertainment anchor for CNN, and worked at HGTV, WJLA-TV in Washington D.C., KSWB-TV in San Diego, and WHEC-TV in Rochester, New York, according to his LinkedIn page.

He is a native of Belize, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the State University of New York at Oswego in 1994.
