Sean “Diddy” Combs paid tribute to Kim Porter Saturday, ahead of her funeral in Columbus, Georgia.
The hip-hop mogul took to social media to share a heartfelt message about Porter just before her homegoing service started in her hometown at 11 a.m. ET.
“Today we lay to rest our ANGEL. Her spirit lives on with us FOREVER!!! We thank you all for your prayers and support. You have no idea how much it means to us. We thank GOD for all of you. #KimPorter,” he wrote in a post shared on Instagram and Twitter.

Porter, a former model and actress, was the mother of three of Combs’ children — 20-year-old son Christian Casey and twin 11-year-old daughters D’Lila Star and Jessie James. She was also mom to son Quincy Brown, 27, from a previous relationship with singer Al B. Sure.
Porter and Combs began dating in 1994, and were together for about 13 years.
The mother-of-four died Nov. 15 at her home in the Toluca Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles after being found unresponsive. She was 47.
An autopsy was completed the day after she died, but “the cause of death was deferred pending additional tests,” the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner said in a statement.

More than 1200 people were expected to attend Porter’s funeral at the Cascade Hills megachurch, according to local newspaper, the Ledger-Enquirer.
The paper streamed footage of mourners arriving at the service, including entertainment mogul Russell Simmons, actress Tichina Arnold and Combs.
Bishop Noel Jones of Gardena, Calif., was expected to deliver the eulogy, and Faith Evans was asked to sing at the service, according to published reports.
On Friday, Porter’s family released a statement saying “God broke the mold” when he made her.

“God broke the mold when he made Kim, there was truly no other woman like her. Although her time here on earth was far too short, she lived a life full of purpose and meaning She was a loving mother and devoted friend. She was the epitome of kindness and grace. There wasn’t a person she met whose soul she did not touch. Kim was the type of woman who changed lives for the better,” the Porter, Goodwin and Combs families say in a statement Friday to the Associated Press. “She will be forever remembered and missed by so many. As her family, we promise to honor her every day of our lives. We love you always.”
