Former Steve Harvey executive producer Alex Duda is headed to Kelly Clarkson’s new talk show.

Duda, a five-time Emmy winner who worked at Steve Harvey until 2017, will manage The Kelly Clarkson Show as EP and showrunner when it premieres on NBC’s owned stations in fall 2019.

She said in a statement about her new role, according to The Hollywood Reporter: “Kelly Clarkson is America’s celebrity. As our first [American] Idol, Kelly was chosen by us, for us, because of her unique combination of relatability and otherworldly talent.”

She continued: “I love telling stories that entertain and inspire, and I’m thrilled to be able to continue doing so alongside an incredible artist like Kelly.”

The Because of You singer chimed in, adding: “I’m looking forward to working with Alex. In the short time we’ve been able to work together, we have certainly made a great team.”

News of Duda’s job with Clarkson comes just two months after it was announced that Harvey’s show, Steve, will lose its time slot to the syndicated Kelly Clarkson Show.

The change marked another loss for Harvey, who quit his previous Chicago-based talk show, Steve Harvey, and laid off the show’s production staff so he could re-brand the program in Los Angeles.

News of the relocation reportedly angered ex-staffers, and someone leaked a memo from Harvey insisting crew members refrain from talking to him in the hallway, approaching him in the makeup chair or entering his dressing room without an appointment.

The memo, which the comedian later admitted he wrote out of frustration, warned in all caps: “IF YOU OPEN MY DOOR, EXPECT TO BE REMOVED.”

As for Clarkson, her show was quickly picked up by the NBC Owned Television Stations group and will air on the network’s local stations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Francisco, Miami, San Diego, Boston, Hartford and Washington, DC.

Duda previously created and executive produced E! Entertainment’s Jerseylicious and worked as an EP on The Tyra Banks Show for two years.
