Nobody’s Fool added an estimated $6.5 million to its box-office earnings this weekend, bringing the film’s ten-day total to $24.3 million, according to Box Office Mojo.

The comedy from writer-director Tyler Perry nearly doubled its haul after a $13.7 million start last weekend.

The film starring Tiffany Haddish, Tika Sumpter, Whoopi Goldberg, Omari Hardwick and Amber Riley played in 2,468 theaters across North America this weekend, for a per location average of $2,650.

That pushed the flick from third place to seventh, behind a string of newcomers and holdovers.

“The Grinch” tops the box office.

The Grinch won the weekend with an impressive $66 million debut.

Voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch, Cameron Seely, Rashida Jones and Kenan Thompson, the animated film resonated with family audiences, and averaged $15,938 per location at 4,141 theaters.

The Illumination and Universal release is the latest movie adaptation of the Dr. Seuss children’s classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Ron Howard’s version opened in 2000 with a $55 million debut, and went on to make $345 million worldwide.

Elsewhere at the weekend box office, last week’s champ Bohemian Rhapsody slipped to second place with $30.9 million.

Paramount’s J.J. Abrams-produced World War II horror film, Overlord, opened in third place with $10.1 million.

Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms slipped to fourth with $9.5 million.

Meanwhile, The Girl in the Spider’s Web failed to trap many moviegoers in its web.

The thriller starring The Crown actress Claire Foy opened in fifth place with a disappointing $8 million. It was just slightly ahead of A Star is Born, which could take over the number five spot when final receipts are tallied up.

The Sony, MGM and New Regency followup to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo opened in 2,929 locations for a per theater average of $2,736.
