NeNe Leakes shared an important update this week about her husband of 21 years, Gregg Leakes.
Gregg, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, underwent a five-hour surgery Monday for his treatment.
Although it’s not exactly clear when the 64-year-old businessman was first diagnosed with the disease or what form of cancer he has, Leakes did confirm he’s working toward a full recovery.
“My hunni is having what we hope and pray is his last surgery towards a full recovery today! It will be a long surgery so we are asking you to pray for the surgeon’s hands, pray for Gregg’s comfort please! Prayers, strength, peace and kindness for myself, his children and family during this time!” The Real Housewives of Atlanta star wrote on Instagram.
She also asked for prayers during this trying time.
“Amen (come on pray warriors🙌🏾) Lord i tell ya, sometimes you never know what a person is going thru!” she added. “I will update you all as much as i can on my insta story.”

Leakes later took to Instagram Stories to let supporters know that the “hard part” was “over” and that it was time for Gregg to “heal.”
Countless people flooded the Bravo celebrity’s Instagram account with positive thoughts following the update.
“Praying all is well with your husband,” one person commented on the reality star’s initial Instagram post.
Another commenter chimed in: “Praying for Greg to beat this. God bless.”
Fellow RHOA cast members Cynthia Bailey and Marlo Hampton also stepped up to the plate, visiting Gregg in the hospital post-operation.
“Cynthia and Marlo you showed the definition of a real FRIEND yesterday! From Marlo decorating Gregg’s hospital room to Cynthia helping Gregg sip water from a cup!” Leakes penned in an Instagram message. “You both provided love, laughs and comfort all while driving me crazy to having Gregg put us out his room.”
The mom-of-two first opened up about Gregg’s cancer diagnosis in June.
“Our New Normal and the fight begins,” Leakes captioned an Instagram photo of Gregg sitting in front of a computer with the word “Cancer” on the screen with a red line through it.
RHOA returns to Bravo in November.
