The ratings for the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards dropped to a record low Monday night.

A total of 10.2 million viewers tuned in to NBC for the live broadcast from Los Angeles, marking an all-time low. The event didn’t perform well among adults in the 18-49 demo either, scoring a 2.4 Nielsen rating.

Those numbers represented a 10.5% decline in viewers and a 4% drop in the demo from 2017, when the Stephen Colbert-hosted affair pulled in about 11.4 viewers and a 2.5 rating in adults 18-49.

It’s possible the show’s move from Sunday to Monday night played a role in the poor ratings, while some might argue co-hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che failed to connect with viewers.

The Saturday Night Live stars got mixed reactions from fans on social media, who criticized their biting opening monologue which touched on the #MeToo movement, race, politics and Roseanne Barr’s fall from grace.

Either way, the low ratings likely came as a disappointment to NBC execs who had no choice but to air the awards ceremony on Monday night due to a scheduling conflict with Sunday Night Football.

The Emmys aren’t the only award show to suffer serious ratings declines this year.

In February, viewership for the Grammy Awards tumbled double digits, and in March only 26.5 million viewers watched the Oscars, marking an all-time low.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has since announced plans to overhaul the Oscars.
