LisaRaye McCoy went on ABC’s The Proposal to find love. But after choosing the man she hoped to spend the rest of her life with, their engagement has ended after one month.

The series premiered on June 18, and featured different singles each week. On her episode, McCoy narrowed the field of suitors down to firefighter Adonis Gonzales and sales rep Anthony B. She chose Chicago native Anthony, who got down on one knee and proposed on the July 9 episode.

But on Thursday, The Players Club and All of Us actress took to Instagram to announce they’d broken up.

“Hello everyone, yes the relationship with Anthony B is over,” she wrote. “I feel the right decision was made when I chose Anthony from the batch of men, I was given to select from [on] the TV show The Proposal.”

The actress said the two remain friends.

“We have both come to a mutual understanding that we are not compatible enough to continue in pursuing a relationship with each other,” she explained. “I do not regret anytime put into this journey because I was immensely receptive in trying a different approach and outlook on finding love.”

McCoy promised to host a question and answer session on Facebook Live and Instagram Friday afternoon to offer more details.

The Hollywood star has previously been married twice.

Her first marriage was to former NFL player Tony Martin. They divorced in 1994 after two years.

In April 2006, she married former Turks and Caicos premier Michael Misick. The politician was charged with corruption during the marriage. There were also allegations he had an affair with Omarosa Manigault.

In August 2008, Misick issued a statement saying, “I am announcing that I am separated from LisaRaye McCoy.” They divorced that same year.

He resigned from office in March 2009 amid an investigation into charges he sold off public land to fund personal investments.

Misick fled Turks and Caicos, and was eventually arrested and extradited back to the islands to stand trial.

The case is still ongoing, according to Turks and Caicos Weekly News.
