Lyric McHenry, who appeared on the E! series EJNYC, was found unconscious early Tuesday morning on a sidewalk in the Bronx, according to published reports.
McHenry, 26, was rushed to an area hospital around 5 a.m., where she was pronounced dead, police told the New York Daily News.
The paper said McHenry was pregnant. Authorities suspect she may have died from a drug overdose.
When the reality star was found, she was not wearing pants although she did have on a pajama top and underwear, police said. There were no obvious signs of trauma.
McHenry turned 26 on August 6. According to her Instagram Stories, she was celebrating her birthday at several different locations in New York City just before she was found on the sidewalk.
Reality TV fans may recognize McHenry from her appearances on EJNYC with Magic Johnson’s son, EJ Johnson. She also served as a producer on the series, which was canceled after one season.
A graduate of Stanford University, McHenry worked as an associate producer for Complex Networks after EJNYC ended, according to E! Her other credits included hosting the Refinery29 web series Lingo with Lyric.
Her father, Doug McHenry, is a Hollywood producer whose credits include Krush Groove and New Jack City. He also produced and directed Jason’s Lyric and House Party 2.
