Kerry Washington has inked a deal to star in and executive produce an adaptation of the futuristic graphic novel Old City Blues for Hulu, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Written by Giannis Milonogiannis and published in 2011, Old City Blues is set in the year 2048. The story takes place in New Athens, a city full of high-tech criminals including smugglers, drug dealers, corrupt politicians and powerful corporations. The pilot is currently in development.
The actress starred in ABC’s Scandal for seven seasons and received two Emmy nominations for her role as political fixer Olivia Pope.
Washington is already in business with Hulu. She will next star in and executive produce the streaming service’s limited series, Little Fires Everywhere, with Reese Witherspoon.
