Omarosa Manigault-Newman is preparing to release a “jaw-dropping” book about working in the White House as an aide to President Donald Trump.
“Omarosa is finally ready to share her side of the story in this explosive, jaw-dropping account,” Gallery Books, a division of Simon & Schuster, said in a press release Thursday.
The memoir titled Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House will be released next month.
The publisher describes the book as “a stunning tell-all and takedown from a strong, intelligent woman who took every name and number.”
Manigault-Newman joined the Trump administration in Jan. 2017, and served as communications director for the White House Office of Public Liaison. She left the administration in December amid reports of tension with Chief of Staff John Kelly.
Omarosa stated publicly that she resigned, but the White House later said she was fired.
The former reality star met Trump while serving as a contestant on the first season of The Apprentice in 2004.
During the 2016 presidential campaign, Manigault-Newman acted as a liaison to the black community, and was a devoted Trump ally.
In Aug. 2017, she participated in a cringe-worthy panel during the National Association of Black Journalists convention in New Orleans. The panel about police brutality erupted into chaos when moderator Ed Gordon pressed Manigault-Newman about her role in the White House.
When Gordon, a veteran TV host, asked how she “could sit” in the White House following Trump’s remarks urging police officers to be “rough” with suspects, Manigault-Newman began to verbally spar with him and threatened multiple times to leave.
After her exit from the White House, she had less than complimentary things to say about the administration.
In February, she appeared on Celebrity Big Brother and claimed she was “haunted” by Trump’s tweets, and said the situation in the White House was “bad.” She also told her fellow housemates that she might write a book about the administration.
“I’m thinking of writing a tell-all sometime. He’s going to come after me with everything he has,” Omarosa said about Trump. “But I have to tell my truth. I’m tired of being muted.”
Unhinged will be released on Aug. 14.
