Tina Turner’s eldest son, Craig Raymond Turner, was found dead of an apparent suicide Tuesday in Los Angeles. He was 59.

Turner was pronounced dead at his home in the city’s Studio City neighborhood at 12:38 p.m., a spokesman with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office confirmed to Urban Hollywood 411. The spokesman added that the coroner’s office was notified by the LAPD North Hollywood division.

Craig’s death was reported as a suicide and he had a gunshot wound. An autopsy is pending.

Investigators were still at the scene in Studio City four hours after Craig’s death was reported, the coroner’s office said.

Tina, now 78, gave birth to Craig when she was 18 years old. Her first husband, Ike Turner, adopted Craig after marrying Tina in 1962. Tina and Ike later had a second son named Ronnie Turner.

Craig’s biological father was Raymond Hill, a saxophonist in Ike’s band.

Craig worked as a realtor in the San Fernando Valley section of Los Angeles.
