Mary J. Blige has signed on to star in Body Cam, a horror thriller that’s being described as a mix between Get Out and End of Watch.
The film is a Paramount Players production, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Players is a division of Paramount Pictures launched in 2017 to focus on “contemporary talent and properties for young audiences.”
Malik Vitthal (Imperial Dreams) will direct, with Matt Kaplan producing.
Body Cam focuses on a group of LAPD officers who are haunted by a spirit after the murder of a black youth at the hands of two white cops. The murder was caught on body cam video that was destroyed in a cover-up. Blige will play a police officer investigating the cover-up.
