ABC is putting a lid on The Chew.

The network announced Wednesday it is canceling the daytime cooking show after seven seasons as it expands Good Morning America to three hours.

“Over the past six years ‘Good Morning America’ has solidified its place as America’s No. 1 morning show,” Ben Sherwood, co-chairman of Disney Media Networks and president of Disney|ABC Television, said in a press release. “We believe there is great opportunity for viewers and advertisers in expanding to a third hour.”

To make room for the third hour of GMA, the network opted to end The Chew.

“While this is the right decision for our business, it is also bittersweet. For seven years ‘The Chew’ has delighted audiences by delivering innovative food segments in an entertaining atmosphere,” Sherwood added.

The third hour of GMA will air at 1 p.m. ET, noon CDT/PDT, ABC said. Additional details such as the title and anchor lineup will be announced “in the coming months.”

Over the years, The Chew produced 1454 episodes and won two Emmy Awards.

The show, which debuted in 2011, will continue production through the end of the season and air as planned until September.

It is currently hosted by chefs Michael Symon and Carla Hall, along with fashion consultant Clinton Kelly.

Former co-host Daphne Oz left the series in August 2017, after announcing she was expecting her third child.

The show parted ways with chef Mario Batali in December, following a series of allegations that he sexually harassed employees at his restaurants.
